1 The matter is now governed by section 6 of the Torts ( Interference with Goods ) Act 1977 which provides that if the improver acted in the mistaken but honest belief that he had a good title , an allowance is to be made for the extent to which the value of the goods at the time at which it falls to be assessed , is attributable to the improvement .
