1 However , the normal rule applicable is that of caveat emptor which is reflected in s14(1) of SGA 1979 : Except as provided by this section and s15 below and subject to any other enactment , there is no implied condition or warranty about the quantity or fitness for any particular purpose of goods supplied under a contract of sale .

9 ( 2 ) As against a person dealing as consumer , liability in respect of the goods ' correspondence with description or sample , or their quality or fitness for any particular purpose , can not be excluded or restricted by reference to any such term .
10 The Program and its documentation are licensed ‘ as is ’ without warranty as to their performance , merchantability or fitness for any particular purpose .
11 Except as specifically provided in this Agreement , there are no other warranties expressed or implied , including , but not limited to , any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for any particular purpose .
